Core waterproof performance: parameters must be excellent
1. Waterproof index (PU value)
Outer tent: at least choose PU 3000mm or above, which can withstand continuous medium to heavy rain; PU 5000mm+ is recommended in areas with frequent rainstorms.
Tent bottom: due to direct contact with ground water, higher standards (≥5000mm) are required, and double-layer tent bottom or thickened coating is recommended.
Seam process: full pressure glue sealing treatment is the bottom line to prevent rainwater from seeping through the seams.
2. Fabric technology
Coating type: PU coating is cost-effective, black glue coating has sun protection + waterproof dual effects, but it is heavier; silicone oil fabric is lightweight and tear-resistant, suitable for long-term use.
Breathable and anti-condensation: choose double-layer fabric (waterproof outer tent + breathable mesh inner tent), or with breathable window design to reduce condensation.
